Highlands NC Homes Benefit From Weekly Garden Talks
Highlands NC homes benefit from weekly garden talks. The Southern Blue Ridge Mountains are an ideal spot for gardening. In fact the gardens you see around the area are so stunning it may look like this is one of the easiest places possible to garden. While it is true that you can grow a fantastic looking garden here, full of stunning flowers and native plants, there is some work involved. Gardening in Highlands NC is made easier through the support of avid local gardening groups.
The Dovecote Garden Talk Salon offers weekly garden chats devoted to topics related to the Highlands NC area. The weekly salon takes place on Fridays and represents a great opportunity to learn more about which plants thrive and which need more attention. This week’s lecture is “Summer Garden Color.”
“Summer Garden Color” will be the lecture held on Friday, June 9, at 10 am. This talk will showcase heirloom dahlias as well as Mary Palmer Dargan’s “magic mix” of perennials and shrubs. The lecture is designed to introduce would-be gardeners to hydrangeas, perennials, and colorful foliage. The idea os to arm you with knowledge and get you comfortable with experimenting in your own gardens. If you own a Highlands home and have been interested in gardening consider making it to the weekly salon series.
